Ōyamazumi Shrine
One of Japan's oldest and most revered shrines, set among camphor trees over 2,600 years old. Samurai once traveled here to pray before battle, and its treasure hall now holds nearly 80% of Japan's nationally designated arms and armor.
Amazaki Castle Ruins
The remains of a sea fortress on Kojōjima, a small island lying just offshore in front of the Tea House. It belonged to the Murakami Kaizoku, the pirate fleet that once held these straits. On the spring tides between spring and summer, the water draws back far enough to walk out to it.
